Poland's harmonized annual HICP inflation measured 1.6% year on year in
January, down from 2.2% in December, Eurostat said in a statement.
Month on month, prices were up by 0.1%, the statement shows.
HICP is used to determine countries' compliance with Maastricht treaty
inflation criteria, necessary for euro adoption. The maximum allowed
inflation is set at 1.5 pp above the level of three-year average of
countries with the lowest result in the EU.
