Arx Equity Expands Lexum Medica, Seeks Large Investment Opportunity In Polish Healthcare

Arx Equity Partners, owners of Lexummedica, a networked group of ophthalmology clinics operating in Poland and the Czech Republic, having been unable to carry out their plan of a PE investment in the healthcare sector in 2011, now expect 2012 to see a major investment in this sector, likely in a single project such as Lexummedica. The network of clinics is under expansion, and two clinics – one in Warsaw and another in Wroclaw – have already been inaugurated in May 2012. Luxummedica already runs three clinics in Poznan, Szczecin and Krakow apart from the two new ones that were opened this month. Funding from Arx is likely to go towards further expansion of the clinic network from the pool of up to PLN 60 mln (EUR 13.5 mln); the PE firm has also been researching the healthcare market for a sound target for their investment.

In 2010, Intermedica became part of the network of ophthalmology clinics, making it the largest such group of facilities in terms of size and standards of medical advancement.
