HIG backs Austrian school

HIG Europe has invested in St Gilgen International School, a boarding school based near Salzburg, Austria.
The deal will see St Gilgen founder Alexander Serda, an Austrian architect and entrepreneur, retain a stake. It is the first institution in HIG's newly established Academos Group, which intends to create a global group of premium international schools.
St Gilgen has a student to teacher ratio of 4:1, and offers courses taught in English, with components in German, Spanish and other languages.
The firm announced the launch of HIG WhiteHorse, a dedicated credit arm with funds in excess of €1bn providing debt to mid-market firms, last September.
