Highlander Partners, a Dallas, Texas-based investment company, has concluded its fourth investment deal in Poland through the purchase of ProService AT,
a financial services company specializing in transfer agent services to
large-scale funds – such as pension and investment) and
individual distributors of financial products in Poland. Highlander has
purchased the company from Skarbiec Asset Management, which was a
portfolio company of Enterprise Investors
(EI) since 2006. Highlander entered the CEE market in September 2008 in
order to cash in on the high-growth segments in countries such as
Poland. The Highlander investment in ProService will enable EI to give
cash returns to its limited investors, and will help Highlander cement
its position in the financial services sector in the CEE region, which
is expected to follow the model of Western European countries that have
experienced high growth in this segment. Its other investments in Poland
are in the healthcare – MEDI-System – and packaging manufacture –
Akomex; its most recent investment has been in Polimex-Mostostal, a
medium voltage transformer company listed on the Warsaw exchange.
